What do you think of when you read or hear the word “yield,” Dear Reader? Does it conjure up a road sign like this one?

When I got an inkling that yield was to be my One Word 365 focus, or goal, for 2024, I thought it was weird. I didn’t think about it in terms of crops or investments at first, then this came to mind:

yield more = more yield

Here’s the takeaway of coupling yield with my 2023 One Word, more: as I yield more to God’s will for my life, the more yield He’ll produce in me. Things like compassion, obedience, positive impact.
