What’s happening, what’s coming soon, & how to be a part of the blessings

This is the spot to showcase the latest events for Buddy Bag Project, but not this July. Last month, one of our founding Partners, & dear friend, Patty, suddenly passed away.

We met in a Dinner Fellowship group several years ago, but our friendship really started developing with the start of Buddy Bags. Not only did Patty help at our very first packing day (and many events after that), she brought her 95+ mom, Janie along with her. Janie soon became a welcome addition to our small group of Partners; it was easy to see where Patty got her sweet spirit.

Patty continues to support Buddy Bag Project, Inc. through the “in lieu of flowers” donations from family & friends, at the generous request of Patty’s husband, Doug, & their kids, Doug, Jana and Ben. Please remember Patty’s family in your prayers.

What’s happening?

• Saturday, August 3 = Serve lunch @Family Center, followed by barbecue at the Walters
• Sunday, August 11 = Sunday Bag delivery & fellowship @ Family Center
• Saturday, September 7 (NEW DATE) = Lead Team Gathering to Give (10/13/24) organizational meeting

• Sunday, October 6 = Sunday Bag delivery & fellowship @ Family Center

TARGETED REQUEST FOR Secondary Student Backpacks

REASON FOR REQUEST: Recently the Director of Women & Family Ministry at City Union Mission told us lots of agencies donate school supplies to the City Union Mission Family Center; what they really need are substantial school backpacks for middle/high school students. Let’s help these kids get off to a strong start for the new school year by having backpacks delivered & ready by August 20.

REQUEST: Two convenient ways to help out with backpacks:

• Order & have backpacks shipped directly to BBP through the Amazon shopping link;
• Use Venmo to donate toward purchase of backpacks.
